And maybe, like her, he'd thought that MAYBE his mother would have changed her mind over the summer.
"It doesn't matter who you are, or who I am, blah blah blah doesn't matter. The point is - he isn't here, I'm sad about it, and looking at you doesn't really make me feel any better." So there was that. "But congrats on that whole Head Girl thing. I know Mikey would have congratulated you and junk."
Merlin's beard, words! They weren't very many but they explained enough for Lex, bringing it to something that was fundamentally understood by all--sorta considering she still had no idea how seeing
her made it worse--Zahra was missing her friend. Granted it was more than that between the two but that was the basic idea, wasn't it?
"So what are you going to do about it?" She asked, lazily following her kneazle's movements as he tried curling up above her head with whatever room he could find up there.
"You miss him and it makes you sad but what then?" Was she going to sulk through the time like someone had offed Mikey and she'd never see him again? Lex didn't know much about the girl except that she could snap at any second and go back to 'OMG LEAVE ME ALONE YOU UGLY NUTTER' so she was
trying for the sensitivity thing, in case she was into that sort of thing but it was hard.
"Reckon you'll let yourself stay sad for the rest of the year?"
As for her new position, she gave a small shrug.
"Er....Thanks." He'd have tried convincing her the badge suited her too but the Gryffindor remained unconvinced. All it was was bigger and uglier than the Prefect badge. Heavier too.
