Hallie quirked an eyebrow at the name-tag. She smiled a little, finding it quaint, and leaned over it. She gave it a tap with her wand and spoke with crisp annunciation, "Miss Halycon Aldrich."
When the Professor's question was posed, Hallie's hand shot straight upwards instantaneously, and her eyes began to dart around the room to see which other students were also ready to respond. Her eyes locked on Cutty, curious about both his answer and his questions, but she didn't dwell on it.
Hallie was thankful her many travels for her parents work had taught her so much about languages. "The Greek word for star is Asteri, and the etymology for Astronomy comes from Greek. Astronomy is the study of the stars and the celestial objects. I think its something people have been studying since ancient times, when less was known about the universe around us. We study it to make sense of the universe in relation to ourselves."
Satisfied with her answer, the girl lowered her hand and became distracted thinking about other word's etymologies. |
