She had glanced over her shoulder to see if the two women who walked in were people she knew - but WHO was she kidding. She didn't know anyone here. Almost a year working at the Ministry and she only knew her coworkers. Which was a good decision, no friends meant no distractions except for the occasional tired-day. She gave a weak smile to the women, then returned to her sulky watching of the flying carpet.

The man was offering for her to ride with him. "No thanks," she said in a huff, her posh accent coming out stronger, but she patted the carpet nevertheless. "Yes, very soft. Perfect for wishing you landed on it when you fall to your death."
