Smooth as chunky peanut butter sort of recovery. "Stellar, simply stellar." Except for Miss Cambridge not wanting to go there as well. No matter. Each of them needed to do what was best for them and not what he wanted. "This is excellent news, Miss Wisteria. All of it. You just let me know when you'll be needing a recommendation."
Because he was obviously writing her one.
He had forgotten about the tea, by the way, but it was sitting in front of her now. Extra hot.
And then he felt his heart strings pulled. Just a little. But enough that he felt the urge to put the palm of his hand on his chest and his blue eyes to soften. "It is a pleasure to teach bright young minds like yourself and just a bonus that I get to help shape the potential for your future." Okay, the aaaaaaaw moment had passed. "You can come to me or you can owl directly to the source. Whichever is easier for you."
Perfect reaction was perfect. Even if she was slightly worried he might get a concussion if he fell over, it was all very much appreciated. And welcomed, too. It was the first time she'd gotten to speak with someone who understood. Let's face it, Alice wouldn't be as thrilled as Airey, and both her best friend and boyfriend were biased enough. "I know!" It was stellar, that was the right word to describe it. "Everything was simply brilliant. You should start writing one, Professor," though she won't be needing one until next year, but one never knows what could happen at Hogwarts.
You just witnessed Pebbles being knocked over a few minutes ago, after all. Bet the rock never saw it coming.
Tea! She was letting it rest for a bit more time, so she simply listened to Airey's words. AND BEAMED, as always. "Thank you, Professor Airey," for the compliments and all. Bright minds. She would've said plenty of things about how his lessons had definitely sparked her interest in Astronomy but... let's not get sentimental, shall we? It could get awkward, eventually. "I'll keep that in mind." Probably depended on what her questions was. If it was related to an assignment, she'd go straight to the source, HOWEVER, if it was something she'd read on one of her books (or Airey's), then she could come to him. "I also went to Oxford, you know. Liked it, too. But... if I had to choose between both, I'd choose Stanford." Just so you know, Flamsteed, mmmhmm. "How was your summer, by the way?" Oh, her tea was ready to drink! Great! |
