She started with one, then another two and another two after that. While she waited for those to soak in she popped another marshmallow into her mouth. Nice and gooey.
As for the whyyyy......... "Because I'm not willing to leave Sir Nicholas here in the castle." And a perfectly solemn nod. "You're needed too much here so I don't think I'd be able to take you with me but he's a ghost and he's spent long enough here. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind a change of scenery and...I'll miss him, y'know?"
The ghost had never been anything but nice to her, she could return the favour. Hadn't he mentioned once or twice how dull the castle could get??? He didn't mind how many marshmallows Miss Cambridge devoured during the visit. Unlike last term, he did not need to ration them out due to weather conditions preventing new owls from his sister. Without saying anything, and simply acting on his thoughts, he reached out and rapped his knuckles on his desk three times. He was not a superstitious man by any stretch of the imagination - load of rubbish and self fulfilling prophecies as far as he was concerned - but gourmet marshmallows were no laughing matter. So if it helped keep chorts from deciding to migrate back to Hogwarts again (a VERY doubtful connection) then he would do it.
He wasn't going to laugh. He was NOT going to laugh. But it WAS an amusing notion. Miss Cambridge detaching Sir Nicholas' spirit from the school and carrying him around in a jar or something equally absurd. "That is quite the task. I do hope you ask him before you go through with this," he mused as he blew on his tea. "I doubt very much you would like being told that you were going to have your body bound to Hogwarts and could never leave, for example." Quote:

The professor kept a weapon in his office, and he probably knew it. "As a matter of fact, I did! Two professors, one of them turned out to be the head of the department, actually. It was all excellent! And the admissions office gave me a lot of information and mailed some more for me at home." So now they had a Lotus Acacia Wisteria in their records. Awesome, yes??! Yes! But... Miss Cambridge? His question about her best friend confused her but she smiled anyway. "Well, she approved of it for me, which is more than I could ask for." She remembered that conversation, vividly. "She liked California, too, but I don't think she did in the same way I did." Like, Lex would to visit, not stay.
Back to BEAMING, though. Also, wasn't their tea done? "That's wonderful! You're really the best Professor anyone could ever have." And she truly meant it. There was an artwork here that proved it. "Of course." Confidentiality. It was appreciated, but she wouldn't mind sharing this with Airey anyway. It would get annoying, however, having to come back here to get assignments instead of getting them herself. But..., "And if I have questions... should I come to you?" If those were questions he could answer, of course. Airey was sitting on the edge of his seat, coming close and closer to slipping off of it with each word that left Miss Wisteria's mouth. In fact, he nearly did as the chair slid back quite suddenly, but he managed to catch himself with the palms of his hands on his desk before his chin hit the surface or anything. Smooth as chunky peanut butter sort of recovery. "Stellar, simply stellar." Except for Miss Cambridge not wanting to go there as well. No matter. Each of them needed to do what was best for them and not what he wanted. "This is excellent news, Miss Wisteria. All of it. You just let me know when you'll be needing a recommendation."
Because he was obviously writing her one.
He had forgotten about the tea, by the way, but it was sitting in front of her now. Extra hot.
And then he felt his heart strings pulled. Just a little. But enough that he felt the urge to put the palm of his hand on his chest and his blue eyes to soften. "It is a pleasure to teach bright young minds like yourself and just a bonus that I get to help shape the potential for your future." Okay, the aaaaaaaw moment had passed. "You can come to me or you can owl directly to the source. Whichever is easier for you."
