Not Ready to Make Nice

Forgive? When her mother said the word it sounded like such a simple thing to do. It was said with the assurance that it was the right thing to do. As if to not forgive would be petty. As if it was Ana who had done wrong and should reach out, attempting to make reparations to a relationship that had broken down to the point of being non-existent.

Ana wasn’t going to though, and this public performance was her show of defiance. “Forgive, sounds good. Forget, I’m not sure I could. They say time heals everything, but I’m still waiting.”
