Thankfully, this new aged gunk was made with better stuff that wouldn't set the common room on fire.
"WAIT! I NEED MY ALUMINIUM FOIL HELMET!" he flailed - what, she said to prepare for the worst! - as he was covered in blue string!gunk. Looked awful with his red suit, by the way, but oh well.
He was getting ready to retaliate - grabbing more cans of the stuff and popping the caps off and allowing them to fall to the ground - when Gryffindors began arriving from the feast. He threw Medea a quick glance just to let her know that it was SO still on, but turned his attention to the students that were slowly trickling in and unleashed RAINBOW STREAMS OF GUNK upon EVERYONE. "WELCOME HOME, GRYFFINDORS!" he greeted. "Not to worry. This stuff is harmless." He set down all of his cans, save for the one he had been originally holding, and turned to one of the newer Gryffindors (AlwaysSnapesGirl). "It is indeed. Familiar with it?" he asked while handing the boy a can with a lime green lid.
Waving and spraying addition gunk on others who walked past and said hello, he soon found himself pushing down on air as the Head Girl had taken his can. "You're welcome to keep that, Miss Cambridge," he nodded, grabbing an orange lid can instead. "And help yourself to more for ammo once you complete your fort."
Which reminded him that he ought to make an announcement to, er, sort of organize things. Ish.
"Alright, Gryffindors, listen up! If you want to head to your dorms real quick to change out of uniform and in pajamas you are more than welcome to do so. There are snacks and drinks for those who didn't get their fill at the feast and the area in front of the fireplace has been designated as a 'quiet zone'," he explained, complete with air quotes because he did not expect there to be much quiet in the common room this evening. "There are some handouts over there on the table showing how best to make blanket and sofa forts, so grab a friend and get constructing if you wish and get ready for a silly string battle until we get too exhausted to move or bored with it. You may choose to sleep in your blanket and sofa forts with friends if you wish rather than the dorms. But let me make it ABSOLUTELY clear there is to be NO co-ed sleeping this evening." He had seen MORE than enough of that sort of STUFF this evening.
"Other than that, just kick back and enjoy your first night in the common room !"
And he was now going to get up off his imaginary soap box and make himself a delicious hot schmo before starting construction on his own blanket fort. It was official. Gryffindor was THE BEST HOUSE EVER. Good choice by him AND the hat. Yep. He couldn't think of anywhere else he'd rather be right now, cept for maybe at home and building a fort with Ashley and Avery instead, but.. yeah... this was pretty cool. He couldn't complain much, and so, he didn't.
The welcome home part was nice, and the random attacks was pretty neat too... but there would be time for that soon enough he supposed. He looked down at his plain black school robes, and instantly he was up and out of his seat, eager to change and get ready for war. "Woooooo!"
He was totes in a mood for silly string fort war, yep. On his way to the stairs though, a couple of people caught his attention...

Under normal circumstances she would be getting chocolate wasted, and shooting everybody near her with the colorful junk. Of course she knew the answer to that. Adi. He was going to ask a girl out and their relationship would never be the same.
Benny confirmed that he didn't know many of the faces either. "Good. I thought it was just me." Where was Angel? AJ thought that she had been right behind her. "Want to build a fort or something?" she asked without any kind of emotion whatsoever. The second year just stood there all awkward like.
She saw Lex, Leo, and Zeke enter and they all got halfhearted smiles. She should be shooting them in the face with silly string, but it just didn;t sound as fun right now. AJ listened to everything that her new head of house had to say and nodded. She got it. AJ was the first he noticed, and he flashed her a smile in doing so. Was it just him? Or did she not seem as bouncy and happy and eager as she had before? Either way, he could hardly wait to explore the castle with her, so long as she didn't ruin all of the surprises. Nobody liked a spoil sport.
Zeke gave her a short wave and was almost ready to run up the stairs to change, when the male prefect dude amused him...
And ohhhhh did he amuse him. HAHAHAHAHAA.

Spotting his new head of house he made his way over to Professor Flamsteed. "sorry Sir… that I'm late.. I got on a staircase that totally went the wrong way and I had to figure my way back…" he laughed as he ran his hand through his hair. "This is just amazing! do you mind if I try one of those silly strings?" asking because he has seen them around sure, but he hasn't physically tried them out for himself before. Looking around the room while waiting for the Professor's response he watched some of the other kids play with it.. ughhhhh it just made him want to do it so much more now. Did he hear correctly? ... "You're what, a sixth year? seventh year?" he started, questioning the boys age. Mans age. He was BIG, so... older. "And you had to "figure" your way back here?" he asked, skeptically, making finger quotations in the air to emphasise the key point. "If you don't remember the way by now, then you might need a map." Just saying. And there was nothing wrong with maps, there were heaps of good maps out there, particularly the treasure kind. "X marks the spot!" He added brightly, pointing down to the boys shoes. Could he make him look?! Hehehehe.
