He walked over and spotted a free seat next to Clara but he didn't wanna just assume no one was sitting there, what if someone was and just went to the bathroom? He would be very rude to take their spot, it wasn't even his table. "Congratulations on Ravenclaw" He told the pair but of course any other new Claws as well, Connor's whole family were Ravenclaws. With the exception of him. "Is it all right if I sit down?" He asked Clara because the redhead seemed to have a thing about space, and people..at least from what he could observe thus far. Quote:

She spotted Connor and Clara--CONNOR! CLARA! She pretty much jetted towards them and attacked Connor with hugs and waved at Clara and UUGGHH. "What are you doing at this table, Con?" she asked with a smile and then looked at Clara. "Hi! So we're in the same house! OH GOOD." She said and sounded really excited about this. SHE KNEW SOMEONE YES. She was very very extremely SUUUUPER nervous and scared and hweuhwiufhgiuh but seeing Connor's little face made her feel so much better. And Comfortaaaaable. yep. Quote:

The one she had met after Miss Smiley. She was sat with the Clara girl she had also come across in the bookshop and it was her she was with now. The Blonde sighed inwardly before sharing a rare and unconvincing smile with her fellow fifth year. “Hello.. Eden” she paused as she remembered the girls name. She had tried to blank out the tediously long train journey from her mind. “I can see that” she responded to her observation of them all being in the same house together. Which meant that these two were now her dorm mates. “Guess we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other then.” Three years’ worth in the same room. Torture for the girl who loved having her own space. Still, they weren’t that bad she guessed.
But then came the whole ‘its okay I’m here for you’ sort of speech that the prefect had given her and Layla resisted the urge to toss her eyes. “It ain’t ‘bout bein’ in a new place” she snapped but calmed herself before she insulted anyone who was trying to help. They were all too friendly. “I’m perfectly capable of lookin’ after myself.” It was true. If there was anything that Layla had a lot of it was common sense. She was incredibly world-wisely. “But I s’pose if we get lost we could help each other out..” she added on mostly out of guilt for snapping and because honestly this girl was quite sweet. Besides if she had to live with her for three years she knew that she’d have to try and get along with them all.
The students continued talking to the hologram in the middle of the room and Layla observed disinterested. “Its only a projection” she studied her nails as she spoke before looking up at the female figure floating about. “Its probably a pre-recorded film of a woman that the staff are cleverly projecting into the hall to fool us all.” That was logical thinking. Ghosts didn’t exist. Clara was battling with herself. One option was to face her anxiety by talking to people, maybe getting up and moving. She knew Phoenix was in Gryffindor, so she'd at least she'd have somewhere to aim towards if she decided to do that. Or she could sit in silence, stare at her lap and wait for the feast - speech and food things - to begin. That was actually the option she preferred, but it sounded dreadfully boring.
It seemed that someone else was going to make that decision for her.
It took her a few second, but she realised that someone was speaking to her and she heard them say something about Ravenclaw. Congratulations, maybe? "Hey ... thanks ... yeah," she spluttered, looking up and spotting that it was Connor that was speaking to her. The Connor she'd sat with on the train, and he had also commented on her sketches of ravens before. He was pretty sound.
The redhead focused on him, blocking everyone else out. It was easier for her to be confident and herself when she was in one-on-one situations. Crowded places were not her thing. "Sure it is," she said, scooting slightly closer to Eden to make room for Connor. She patted the bench and grinned at him, "make yourself comfortable." Hopefully he didn't notice how fidgety she was, 'cos she was trying NOT to be.
After budging up for Connor, she turned to Eden. All her attention was on Eden. "Sorry if I'm squashing you," she apologised, grimacing. The bench seemed quite full now, but Eden didn't seemed to noticed, she just launched into speech. Clara couldn't help but grin at her. "We ARE in the same house" ..... "I'm really, really glad. We're going to be sharing a dorm too."
Honestly, Clara couldn't think of a better girl to share a dorm with. Eden was so NICE. She totally had the Clara stamp of approval.
Unlike the next girl to arrive at the table. Layla. "Hi." That was all. Clara didn't say a word the rest of the time that Eden and Layla were talking, but she was totally giving Layla looks. She hoped that the girl had a good reason for seeming so rude and ungrateful, because Eden was being nothing but nice, and Layla ... wasn't. She'd been like this at the bookstore and the train too and so far, she was not making a good impression. Clara definitely wasn't looking forward to sharing a dorm with her.
Then, just before Clara had a chance to turn back to Connor, Layla said something so ridiculous that she couldn't help but comment. "It's not a projection," she muttered, pinching the bridge of her nose, before looking up at Layla. "It is a ghost. Hogwarts doesn't have that sort of muggle technology." .... "And even if they did, why would they bother using it to project talking ghosts around the school?" Was this girl really a Ravenclaw?
