Benny couldn't help but watch as the Astronomy professor seemed to be digesting what all was being told to him over the situations that had transpired since leaving the train. It was a lot so it was understandable the minor silence that took place at times. He tried not to hunker down as the man's gaze turned directly to him after mention of his spell casting, the attention was a tad unnerving. But alas the man's focus turned elsewhere eventually.
He simply nodded as he was thanked for his words, his hurried explaination in defense of Adi that was included in the stories of the others. It wasn't necessarily something he had aimed to be thanked for, more important was the loyalty to his best friend he had shown. The lion very much a Hufflepuff in those regards then a Gryffindor looking for the pride.
"Thank you sir," Benny managed when his actions in defense of AJ were once more brought up. The fourth year remaining silent as the conversation was turned to Alexa though somewhat brightening at what was being said. Perhaps Adi wasn't at risk in the long run after all. Definitantly good news and his gaze passed briefly towards the badger table where his friend was no doubt trying to make up for earlier actions and absence.
Nothing more could be done or said really as the headmistress finally got up to her feet to give her speech. He listened intently as he could but he was more relieved that the evening was actually passing and leading towards a hopefully less stressful tomorrow then her words in truth. The food was an added benefit of course. Benny obediantly clapped when it was over before turning his attention back to Airey, the new Head of House gathering them all to his attention for his own little speech.
"RRROOOAAR!" he gave in echo to the others though perhaps not as outspoken as the professor. Or quill boy for that matter. His eyes falling on Angel and by connection her sister besides her as things settled down and he offered a brief smile before working on serving himself some food.
