She was going to give him two whole warnings?
"You're too nice. If somebody just runs up on me with their lips puckered the only warning they are going to get is the sound the wand makes before I smack 'em with it." That was all the warning they were going to get. The exception to that was Adi. He had kissed her in Diagon Alley without warning, and she didn't flip out. AJ did punch him in the arm. Not because she hated the kiss or anything. Mainly just because it wasn't fair to go around confusing her.
It was true. It was true. AJ had to refrain from jumping up and down in her seat. How was she going to be able to wait to talk about this? She wanted information, and she wanted information now.
"Why are you avoiding him then?" Surely that was a safe enough question to ask at the table.
Chocolate lip gloss existed.
"Can I have one?" To eat? The gloss would stay on her lips for all of two seconds before she would lick it off.
"I think Adi would like it." Her eyes widened. She had a bad case of word vomit.
Where did that come from?
"What are you on about? Failure at what?" AJ felt like she was missing something here.
"You have a great guy that likes you, amazing friends, and a sister that would do anything in the world for you. What more do you want?" Suck it up, buttercup.
"Then we will." And it was going to be epic.
AJ watched in amusement as the younger boy sized up the castle as if what he saw right then and there summed it all up.
"Wait until you see all the secret passages and cool hidden gems." Was that exciting him?
Cool. AJ wasn't really up for answering questions anymore. This whole no food thing was starting to make her cranky.
"Tons of cake. Really any kind of sweet you can think of." AJ liked this kid. Sweets were the way to her heart.
