Dima didn't know. Being a goldfish was terrible, and sometimes people just did things to you just because they could. She squeezed his hand, though, and wriggled toward the bench where she'd first dropped out of sight. People kept looking at her, and she didn't want to get some sort of reputation in her new house as 'the crybaby girl under the table'.

That was one of those things that was nearly impossible to shake, even if she never sat under the table and sniffled again.

"I have to be brave for a bit. You go back for now." He could tell Kyroh and Maddie that she wasn't coming, either.
