BACKGROUND
When invited by Miss Gabriela Schultz to come speak on the matter of flying carpets, Janssen immediately jumped at the chance. Going on his 10th year as Department Head for the South African Transportation Department, Janssen has had many experiences with flying carpets - both positive and negative, but mainly negative.

Janssen personally feels that flying carpets are too hard to regulate. Coming from South Africa, which has a rich history stretching back generations, he also feels that magic carpets could possibly be infringing on muggle artifacts that could greatly strengthen the history and unity of the country, both muggle and wizarding alike. He supports the law put in place in Great Britain and has spent the last year attempting to push similar legislature through the South African magical government.

In his free time, Janssen is an avid fisherman and also enjoys swimming. When he retires, he wants to move to Iceland after traveling the world and fulfilling his dream of buying a winged horse.
