It was her job to be good at picking up on things. Now she just felt sad. She kept her eyes downcast for a few moments of silence.

Then she looked back up. "I'm sorry. I'm just not good at...I'm..." Alysson was usually good with words but right now the ability to form full sentences was failing her. So with a sigh she simply got up from her chair.

She wiped at her cheeks absently before taking a small step closer to him. "I do care. And I'm....I'm sorry you don't know that." Because that was obviously her fault. She smoothed out her skirt and took a deep breath.
