Then the topic changed back to the project. Right. They wanted the program to start after christmas break? Well then they ought to get a move on, thought Emma as she pulled out her calendar journal to calculate how many days until then. "Okay, after Christmas break," she nodded and then added that to her calendar. At least they had some time to get to work on this. Now what did Ashby want them to do? "So the junior unspeakable programs would the juniors basically shadow all the rooms or will there be some sort of test to discern where they would like to go, Mr. Summers?" she asked because Emma didn't really want to have to explain the concept of love to someone who wasn't interested. Casually, Jasper joined the rest of his workmates, catching the tail end of what Emma had been saying. After Christmas break and they'd want the junior unspeakables to shadow them or test them into the program. Not off to a bad start. Or they weren't. He was, as he'd arrived at this chinwag late and looking a bit tired. A familiar sort of weariness that those closest to him knew what it was about.
He took a place by Emma and clutched a cup of coffee and listened in to the conversation at hand. "H'mm..." His foggy-day blue eyes squinted in thought as he brought the cup up for a sip, placed it downward and then spoke. "I think it's important to teach them not just what we do here, but give them practical and flexible skills that transcend multiple disciplines. For example, archiving and safe-handling of prophecies might be useful to someone hoping to find a career not only in the Ministry of Magic, but also library & museum work. If we offer this we may not need to test them into specific areas as they could benefit from all of them." Though, perhaps they could test them before they completed the program and certify them. Could be fun and give the children a sense of achievement. "Out of curiousity, was there a specific age-group we were hoping to be working with?"
