Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent Mariel smirked a bit, nodding lightly. She'd agree that it was a positive thing as well. Who got anywhere with letting stupidity walk all over them? No one, that's who. The brunette thought it a good thing to stand up for yourself, especially around idiots. She did have to repress a snort as Victoria continued. "Becoming? I feel like we've been out numbered sine we've started." But she felt that knowing that helped make it more tolerable. Like she lowered her expectations of certain people because of that fact. Not of her department though. They were golden and she held her high expectations of them. "Oh, right.. I forgot you had taken care of that," she chuckled. But her mood soon turned somber and she nodded distractedly as Vic warned her away from them. After what had happened last fall and things that she had her mind on lately, she was fairly cautious about circumstances that could risk her health.. among other things. "I don't plan on submitting to any exam not given to me by my own healer.."
Mariel knew exactly where Victoria and she nodded solemnly in agreement, her thoughts growing distant again. If she had not gotten promoted a year and a half ago, she wasn't completely sure that she would still be here. The brunette loved her job, especially the one she currently held, but there were things here that she did not agree with.. things that she also did not trust. She often wondered if Jorge was more on track with his corrupt Ministry thoughts than she'd like to readily admit, especially in her own Ministry. The 29 year old laughed a bit as her friend did. "Exactly." Why on earth was Games and Sports expected to do the work of another department? She was so tired of feeling like the rest of the Ministry felt thought of them as expendable and did not have as much work to do as the other departments. It was ridiculous. "Yes.. we've dealt with it all just fine. I'm not sure where their concern comes from all of the sudden. Shouldn't they have been concerned a year and a half ago?" It was public knowledge where they had to work, why would they care now after they had come through it just fine. Honestly, they weren't all fragile beings. "Hmm.. alright.." The Department Head glanced at her stack of paperwork. "It hadn't come across my desk, so I'll go upstairs to check on it just to make sure. I know you want to get paid," she added with a chuckle. Probably just overlooked and wasn't a big deal, but she hadn't had seen it or else she wouldn't have been surprised by the news. "Oh you need to go away with him," she smiled widely at her again. "Romantic getaways are simply the best and they're so important for a relationship." She couldn't help but to chuckle at herself. Mariel knew a few years ago she'd think the notion was unnecessary, but she knew now how wonderful her trips away were for her and Jorge. "Well, she started, looking at the letter as she picked it up again. "I should probably go see what is going on with all of this nonsense.." Maybe give the an a piece of her mind and see how the rest of her department was faring.
