She stood very still while the measuring tape went about its business and giggled when it ducked under her arms to measure their length. A giggle that grew louder when she heard a boy (ZEKE!) - perhaps around her age - close by and offered him a shy smile. "Are you getting your first wand too?" she asked with a small bounce that set her curls in motion. "I'm hoping for a unicorn hair core. I've read that unicorn hair is good for Charms."
That...and she just really liked unicorns. And mermaids.
.... ruddy tape. He could have sworn it was taunting him about things, but he let it continue its business, measuring his arm length, and the part around his wrists... what even?
Snapping his head to a voice that was clearly directed at him, he nodded. "Yeah!" he replied, a little too enthusiastically for comfortable conversation. But hey, little miss giggles wouldn't be put off by it, would she? Ignoring the tape he considered what she said. Cores, he hadn't really THOUGHT about cores, he thought it was the WOOD that mattered. Who knew? "And why do you want to be good at Charms?" he asked, curious. "Why not something else? Everything else?" Charms seemed a little limiting, no?
And what if HE got a unicorn core wand, and found out he SUCKED at Charms? What then, huh? At any rate, unicorn hair sounded girly, maybe he'd get something like dragon heartstring, or something with manticore ... did they even have those?
