That was one of the tiny details that Mordred forgot to mention. “No one has acknowledged you yet, yeah? So…I’m doing one.” Pause. “Thanks for keeping an eye on us!” And no, he’s not sucking up to her. He’s just showing his manners to her peers. Didn’t his deceased mother told him to be thankful to those who did great favours for him? Tillstorm did her job, and she made his first term in Hogwarts, under the Slytherin house a good one. So thanks for that, Cece!
And here was one of her favorite students. Not that she really picked favorites or anything, but this one, he was just kind of special.
"Hello Ethan," she greeted the boy with a smile on her face, something that was rarely seen on the woman.
"You're quite welcome. You deserve much more than just an acknowledgement from me, but I'm afraid that's all I have to offer you." The boy had worked his bum off this term and he did it while staying out of trouble.
"I'm very proud of how successful you've been this year." Hmm, maybe next term she could think of a way to acknowledge her students more than just her little speech.
What? He wanted to acknowledge her for doing her job? It was a rare occasion when anyone acknowledged her for anything positive around this school. And when she did get thanked, it was usually by students, and most certainly not by her boss.
"You're very welcome," again.
"You know I'm here for you little snakes whenever you need me." And even if they didn't need her she was there for them.
It was students like this one that made her job enjoyable. Could she just reach out and hug him now?
