Lex had helped her out a lot this year, and she was going to make sure that her final year was one for the books.

"I'm ready to go home and soak in the sun for about a month, but I am diggin Hogwarts, and can't wait to come back." She did wanna see her family and friends, but Hogwarts was so cool. "It's not cold like this every year, right?" Because she would go crazy. "I managed to ride a unicorn and jump in the lake before we got locked in, so it wasn't so bad." Next year though she wanted to explore more. "Thanks." What a cool prefect the lions had.

The look in her eyes was all the confirmation Lex needed that she'd gotten Aubrey under her services for next year but you know...her confirmation was good too. "That's the idea. Not sure what I'll do just yet but I've got the whole summer to really think about it." Not that she'd waste away her summer on Hogwarts matters but a few thoughts here and there wouldn't hurt anyone. "Whatever it is, you're right about it being epic." Lex did nothing but that. Had to be epic or it wasn't her style.

Lex supposed she could understand the idea behind being eager to come back, afterall her first year left her dying for September, but that was totally because of the man eating plant. That term had been amazing, and quite the adventure at that. "Nah, not usually unless something goes wrong like that term with the Dementors. Usually we have normal weather and something a bit more dangerous than snow." Snow which totally put her off winters officially might we add. Good thing she'd be of age by the time the next one rolled around, heating charms would be in order.

SPOILER!!: Lottie ^^

"I wouldn't have minded green. But I'm glad it's red, then." Especially if this was the first time Lex was seeing the Great Hall donned in red and gold. She wondered if it was Tag's as well. If so, then this couldn't be a better goodbye.

Wait, what? "The day after we get here?" Seriously? Quite frankly, this didn't surprise Lottie, she was the one who actually looked forward to certain classes, not Lex. Astronomy, mostly. And you can add Ancient Runes as well because of Botros. She would've looked forward to History of Magic if the man from last term had stayed. "I look forward to my birthday and spring." She missed the latter this time around.

Even next year she'd probably be looking forward to Hogsmeade weekends and the winter holidays, and then summer. Plus, Astronomy lessons.

BEAMING! "I cannot wait!" It was a good thing they were doing this trip first.

That was the difference between the two right there, wasn't it? Lottie wouldn't have minded the green this time around and even Cassia would have been grateful for it but, "Couldn't stand Kinsley if this place was green. Not at all. His head would grow bigger than the badge already inflated it." Odessa would be tolerable mostly because she'd grown so accustomed to ignoring him but how did one ignore the obnoxious Theodore Kinsley? It didn't seem possible.

Lex gave a nod, confirming Lottie's question. "Yup. After the feast there isn't much of the castle to see that I never saw last term and all the same people--'cept the firsties and they usually don't impress me so...." If she was being honest, this way of thinking was relatively new and came with the restlessness to be out of the castle and away from here. After years and years of watching others leave, her own patience on the matter had run thin. "I look forward to my birthday too, but mostly because it's the day we go home." Tomorrow to be exact. AHEM. "But at some point in the term I'm glad I stay...only during the most epic events though." Like that meeting with Mr. Vinteren in his office. Did Lottie remember that? Good times

Of course her best friend was as pumped for the summer as she was because of the best plans in the world. Common knowledge. Mutual feeling too.

"Gonna be nice seeing the sun again. Reckon we've all got some vitamin D problem now." January was ages ago, this wasn't healthy. "Sand, sun, drinks and not a textbook or annoying schoolmate in sight." She could see it now and it and started wishing the train would come tonight.

SPOILER!!: Sir Nicholas!

Sir Nicholas ventured a mischievous glance towards the Slytherin table. "I have not. But it would be a right pity if I did not get a good gloat in before the term's end. He is probably busy keeping Peeves in check I suspect...or at least offering that as an excuse for his absence."

The ghost's gaze looked downward briefly before yet another beaming smile appeared on his face. "I see you have decided to wear your badge again About time, if I dare say."

"Well I don't know..." The faintest traces of a mischievous smile spreading across her lips. "Might be worth seeing it in another colour if I can go out my Seventh Year with a BANG." Something with a little flare. Trophies were nice and all--shiny too--but she couldn't help but think she might want something more when it got to very end. Final night in Hogwarts? It'd have to be an event.

She laughed at his assumptions of the Slytherin ghost. "When you do run into him, be sure to roar a little louder for me too, 'kay?" Nothing like a sullen Slytherin ghost to make the victory that much sweeter. Winning was amazing, and for once, she didn't have to say 'we're winners on the inside' because the frickin' trophy was there for BACK UP!

His smile was matched with a grin at the mention of her badge. "I have! Can't leave the lions to run themselves, not when I do a much better job of it." Or, you know, something like that.

SPOILER!!: Zander

Left him to rot in the dungeons? At that Zander opened his eyes wide in HORROR! Sure the kid could be rough around the edges, but somehow the two had a sort of unspoken friendship. Ever since that day down in the dungeons when they learned a little bit too much about each other. Or was it that time in the dorms, while fighting off peeves? Either way, they were friends somehow. And he would honor that. Even if the guy was trying to blackmail him into pulling the prank of the century. ”Listen, Lex… I know- I know he comes off rude… But-but he means well, I promise. He’s just… Just doesn’t know how to show it,” The lion had to have some good in him. Zander was sure. Even if Kevin couldn’t see it himself. There was something more than just sassy retorts and evil stares. He had helped the third year at his most vulnerable. He was a good friend.

But then. Then, he was confused. What did she mean by he could stop— Uh oh. Following the girl’s finger over towards the staff table, the boy stopped midthought in shock. SHOCK. O____O Kevin? The Gryffindor wasn’t sure whether to be relieved or even MORE worried. On one hand, the close supervision from the Headmistress meant that Zander wouldn’t have to go through with the Slytherin bomb!prank… But it also meant that Kevin was in big trouble. Which meant a lot of things.

He also noticed that Kevin was staring right at them. Trying to make eye contact with the younger Gryffindor, the boy sent him a look of utter confusion…. So now that the weather was all nice and peachy again, could the owls make some local deliveries? Because Zander needed to know things. But right, back to Lex. Elixir for Euphori-huh? ….. No thank you. Slowly scooting the chair a little further away from this prefect thank you very much. Faking the absolute widest smile he could muster, ”No need, see I’m already feeling better, see?” Not really.

Lex had only just stopped scrutinizing the young lion when he tried convincing her of Kevin's good merits? Was that what he was trying to do...? Because it wasn't working and if it weren't for the fact Gryffindor had won, her birthday was tomorrow and she was the bloody HAPPIEST person in the room, she might have scowled at Zander but she didn't. "You can think whatever you want. Doesn't matter to me what he's like when I'm not around because that doesn't benefit or affect me in any way. It's what he's like when he's around me and what he is I can't say because you're too young and shouldn't be exposed to such vocabulary." Hopefully that had painted a vivid enough picture. Lex had words about that boy, and none of them were good.

Ah but Zander finally saw what she was on about. Lex twisted to have another look for herself. It really was good having him up there. Maybe they could keep him there next year too so he doesn't make a mess of her last year and last night at Hogwarts.

Lex nearly cracked up at the forced smile. Haha, it wasn't that bad Zander, you wouldn't even know you were under the potion. Still, the effort was there and that was the ticket to eventually feeling better rather than pretend. "There you go! Pretty soon you might actually start to mean it." Then maybe he wouldn't look like someone had placed the entire world on his small shoulders.

SPOILER!!: Schuyler

And now look: it was already her last.

Big plunge? Her smile twitched into more of a grin. "Okay, that sounds like I'm getting married."

But no. Nooo marriage. Yet.

She nodded thoughtfully. "You know, I am. I feel like a lot of the time, people are either dying to leave or wishing they weren't just yet," she commented. "But I think I feel like I'm in a good place. I'm ready to leave, but I'll miss it very much."

And that was an honest answer.

She nudged her lightly. "Won't be long until you're in the same boat." As in leaving Hogwarts, of course.

Marriage, yikes. Just the word might have had the Gryffindor wrinkling her nose. Marriage, commitment, relationships; all 'no's for her and nothing at all like what the big bad world outside Hogwarts should be. That was the time for freedom and discovery, not getting tied down. "Pfft, reckon I'd have used a more solemn, grim tone with that reference." Then again, who wouldn't?--Except for those reeeeeeeeaaally weird people that often had Lex staring at a loss of words, nice words.

"It does sound like a good place though and I can definitely say you're in a better position than the majority of us that know we'll be back here next year." graduates had all the luck, this was an established rule of sorts and an obvious one at that. "Have you already thought of what you'll do?"

Couldn't they take her with them?

Lex's smile stretched into a grin at Schuyler's reminder. "Yup! Just one more year to suffer through then it's the big leagues. Can't wait, lots to plan with Lottie. Freedom calling and all that." Especially after the talk with Dora. The Ravenclaw was right, everything was better outside the castle; adventures, opportunities and guys. Not this palace stuff.

Oh! Speech!!! Not as long as speeches typically went and thank Merlin for that! She didn't think she'd have the patience to sit through it all and before she knew it, it was over! FOOOOD.
