It wasn't long at all until Schuyler was pulled from her quiet attempt to commit this moment to memory. And happily so. Tag was always such an upbeat sort of guy, from what she'd always seen of him. And today was no different. It was a nice characteristic, she thought.
"Hey yourself!" she smiled. "I'm always excited for summer. Especially when I know I'll be in sunny places." Sunny and warm and summery. This was nice small talk. "You?" Quote:

Probably thinking about how much more epic her life would be once she was away from the castle.
One more year before she could think like that. Some people had all the luck and others had very little. The graduating class housed 80% of her friends. Lex was still lucky for Lottie and Aidan reasons but not having the rest of them...was that even possible?
There was another voice that had brought Schuyler back to Gryffindor table. And that was the voice of her very own prefect. She smiled at the other girl. Lex had always been friendly and welcoming to her (not JUST because it was expected of prefects, she believed) since the start of her schooling here at Hogwarts. Since her first feast. And now look: it was already her last.
Big plunge? Her smile twitched into more of a grin. "Okay, that sounds like I'm getting married."
But no. Nooo marriage. Yet.
She nodded thoughtfully. "You know, I am. I feel like a lot of the time, people are either dying to leave or wishing they weren't just yet," she commented. "But I think I feel like I'm in a good place. I'm ready to leave, but I'll miss it very much."
And that was an honest answer.
She nudged her lightly. "Won't be long until you're in the same boat." As in leaving Hogwarts, of course.
