It was great seeing the place like this. And seeing Beautiful Bentley looking so proud of them. It made everything worth it. Every single last bit. Even attending Arithmancy.
Come to think of it... He hadn't really ever held up a conversation with the house ghost before. Most of the time, he tried to avoid the ghosts. One bad run in with Peeves had ruined it for them all. Except for, this one. He was nicer. "I'm uh, I'm Zander by the way... Sir... by the way sir," Sir Nicholas.
Sir Nicholas beamed down at this Gryffindor as well. As yes, what had Peeves been chanting that one day as the poltergeist had departed the Gryffindor Tower with an unsavory look on his face? The ghost could not recall at the moment, but doubted very much that the young Gryffindor wanted to hear it again.
"
I know you you are, Mr. Aldair," he chuckled. "I would make for a very poor house ghost were I not to know the names of all the lions." And really, as a ghost he had all the time in the world to be observant and memorize such things. So there truly were no excuses. "
Although there is a bit of a mystery I am hoping you can unravel for me. You see, I am aware that you and Mr. Hirase are on good terms. Tell me, do you know why he is currently seated up there at the staff table?"
Sir Nicholas was rather hoping it was for some honor, seeing as Gryffindor had just won the cup. But this WAS Mr. Hirase, one of Gryffindor's more spirited and rambunctious lion cubs.

"
Sir Nicholas, if you don't mind," he corrected the 6th year (still with a smile, mind you). He was a friendly sort, but also rather proud of his title and was less than pleased when it was dropped so easily. "
Professor Bentley looks absolutely ravishing this evening because of them. You all have made her quite proud."
And then another little Gryffindor was suddenly scurrying away.
"Miss Bayless! It is considered rude to miss the Headmistress' speech!" he called after her. Come come now, little lioness.
Were any of the other lions going to go see what was the matter? Sir Nicholas would, but perhaps a ghost chasing after a student was not for the best.
