Ascanius couldn't WAIT to split, yeah? After a horrible final year stuck in a snowy underworld with mopey first years being 'round every corner all he wanted to do was get his drumsticks, get his stuff and get out.
'Course he'd miss Hogwarts, y'know? He'd never had a real home. Not really. Not the way that most people did. And this was a way cooler place to spend his time then an orphanage, but he couldn't stay here forever. And he didn't WANT to. Scan wanted to be a famous wrock star and tour the world with TDK and have a life that kicked the first half of his in the face. Being sad and depressed 'bout leaving wouldn't do anything for him now. He just had to buckle down and accept it with his BEAUTIFUL jaw in a straight line.
Everything would figure itself out 'cause it had to, yeah? He couldn't STOP time from moving and, honestly, he was excited to see what his older years would do for his face. Good things, naturally. Smirk.
So he slipped into his usual seat at the table and nodded at the usual suspects. Then he leaned over to Addi and showed her a signed picture of his face, "I'm thinking memory book entry. Whatta we think?"
