Benny could see his companion was perhaps even more unsure of this activity than he was, making a note of it to guide his behavior. At least it assured him he wasn't going against someone a bit more experienced then he was. If anything they might be on more even keel for the impending duel. "Yeah..." he answered. "No harm on trying."
As the other Gryffindor questioned procedure, the boy thought back into his own memory. "We could do that," he said with a nod, "Gives us a chance to be on an even start. Or you can go first." He was open to whatever was decided. Since it appeared Zander was unfamiliar with dueling, perhaps it was best to give him the option on what was their first move. Then they would go back and forth as they were willing. Benny did slip his wand out from his pocket to prepare either way.
