Ethan pulled a Sherlock and popped up his collar for full effect, crossed his arms and gave his Watson an arrogant nod.
“Of course. No one else in this room can do it.” Hehehehe.
Ethan watched as Simon placed the baking sheet inside the oven. Fifteen minutes, yeah?
“So…where was I…oh yes…about that…” the blond boy scooted closer to his best friend and continued to fill him in about what transpired during their hunt for runes with the Runes Master. He even discussed how the device felt in his hands.
“I felt like a real detective. It was pretty awesome…” Ethan would love to continue his story, but it seems that their cookies are ready!
“I think that’s golden brown enough, yeah?” The boy took the liberty to don a pair of thick mittens, and got the tray out of the oven.
“It saaaaays here that we place the parchment in the middle and fold the cookie over.” The blond snake got his reduced parchments, and handed Simon his parchments.
“Here goes nothing…”
Simon coughed to hide his laughter. Oh dear was Ethan really popping his collar? Perhaps the whole Sherlock-Watson dynamic was going to their heads a little bit TOO much? He coughed. "
Sorry, frog in my throat," he said as he watched Ethan finish up the precise placing of the batter on the cookie sheet.
As they waited for the cookies to cook, Ethan informed Simon of the trip that he had missed out on. The boy listened with excitement and nodded; however, he wished he could have gone with him and Botros because Runes were his expertise not magical dark creatures. He nodded and was about to ask Ethan another question when the timer went off. Mmm.. Those cookies did smell goood!
With the batter out of the oven, Simon carefully placed one of the fortunes in one of the batters and folded it over, making it neatly into the fortune cookie shape. He repeated this twice more with the others. Carefully he picked up the hot cookies and placed them quickly into a muffin tin so that they could hold their shape. He set the timer on.
As they were waiting, he turned back to face Ethan. "
Merlin, that sounds brilliant. I wish I could have gone with you. We just kept researching which was exciting but it was about chorts... Not about runes," he explained. The timer went off so he gazed at the recipe.
"
Sooo...what's next?"
