"Hi." Standard greeting, yes, hello, hi bestie. "So I'm thinking you bake, I supervise, we enjoy the cookies and the world is a happy place. Kinda like we always do." Lex was FAR better at supervising than she was at baking, even Cassia knew this so no arguments should happen.
"You reduce the fortunes while I go pre-heat the oven--no, wait, I'll burn myself. I'll shrink these, you light the oven so we can get that started." It might have been weird having someone boss around the Head Girl but Cass didn't let that sort of power get to her head. Power wouldn't make her bestie not listen. Pfft. Plus this was a team effort!
With that, she gathered their fortunes together to make one spell of it. "Reducio."

Sounds like a perfect plan," she nodded glancing back at the parchment. See, she and Lex had attempted this , baking, a couple of times. Years ago they totally failed because they always had better things to do. And when they did do it together it was Cassia working and Lex providing the greatest entertaining and conversation anyone could ever dream of. Perfect team.
While the sixth-year shrank the fortunes that belonged to her. Cassia was mentally deciding what she was going to do next. Yup, got it.
"
Hand me that bowl, will you?" Just so the other blond would feel involved and not like she wasn't doing anything at all. The snake trusted that her friend knew what a bowl was. If not it would be quite an alarming thing.
But yeah, a bowl was the easy thing, so far so good. Rolling up her sleeves, Cassia switched to cook mode, which wasn't really that different from her regular one. Except just a little when someone ruined her work. No one was going to do that fortunately so all was well. One by one, Cassia started adding the ingredients. Flour, oil, vanilla, sugar, salt and all while adding water. She was using her mother's technique because she knew it by heart. And professor Morgan didn't specify a way for them to do it which was good. "
How is Felix, by the way? I haven't seen him in while," And by seeing she meant spending time with him petting him and rubbing his stomach.
See, she just KNEW this wouldn't be a problem. This was what set Cass apart of all the rest of 'em stuck up kitchen snobs that actually knew what they were doing. Cassia could understand how lost Lex was in the kitchen and in turn didn't expect much from her in the way of contribution until it came to the eating part. They had a perfect system, could you tell?
Alexa reached for the bowl across the table and slid it to Cassia then watched the girl carefully add the ingredients. Left to her own devices, Lex might have just thrown everything in and hoped that it worked out in the end no matter how it would look at the time.
"He's alright I suppose. Feeling more confined than even me--if that's possible. Usually he gets some time on the grounds but now it's nothing but the Common Room or the corridors when I take him with me. Even then it's short lived because I don't want him freezing to death or getting sick." A sneezing kneazle only liked sneezing in one direction, your face...while you slept cuddled up with it. She knew this system all too well.
"Wish the owls had stayed. How else are we gonna know how Mikey's treating Venom." After all these years she still didn't think the boy was very competent so yes, she had to ask.
Oh hey she was done adding.
"I can mix." She offered, taking the bowl and the wooden spoon thing--this was what they were meant to use yes?
Mix. Mix. Mix. Nothing to it.
"Lemme know when this looks smooth enough."
