And then she saw it...candy...Thats why they were all standing there, that boy was selling candy. Oh sweet baby jesus. Approaching him the fifth year took off her hood and tried a smile. Hmm. Oh well, maybe later. "Hey you, what do you have to offer?"
The display wasn't a bad idea, but this time Cutty had learned from emotional encounters with Ravenclaws that he was better off setting up duplicated empty boxes vs. the actual thing. Could get lifted. Could also be casted upon and cause their innards to spill all about the cold, cold floor. He starred down at the floor and took out his wand, that's when he'd heard it.

And it was saying something to him. He looked up to see who the owner was. The opposite of disappointment. That's what he was at that moment when he'd caught sight of the well-kempt older student. Maybe she was loaded.
A smile less hollow and calculated than his put-on one, tilted across his face in a manner somewhere between cocky and confident. He was both. Or one or the other depending on whom was doing the reading.
