"It was the right color at least." she laughed at herself because she knew it was a feeble attempt. Her grumpiness was fading away. She always thought that the cold was the onlt thing altering her mood. Could it be that the absence of Adi in her life was making her moody? If that were the case then she was glad that he was back. AJ sincerely missed her personal helper.
He was giving the spell a go again. She watched as the rope appeared. He was going to get it to work, but at the last second it stopped.
"Rotten luck." It was her turn again.
"This is how you wrap a rope around a dummy." Without waiting a second more she shouted,
"Carpe Retractum!" and to her surprise the purple rope shot out and wrapped itself around the dummy. AJ grabbed Adi by the shoulder.
"Did you see, did you see?" She was practically jumping up and down. It worked for her!
Adi laughed, too.
"Good point. And a light or whatever that was is better than nothing at all.'' That was Adi for you. Always looking to find the bright side of stuff.
He just smiled when AJ said 'rotten luck'. He didn't tell her that was intentional. He knew she wouldn't appreciate him doing that but he couldn't help it.
"Let's see you give it your best shot then,'' the Hufflepuff encouraged. Best shot AJ gave it indeed.
"I saw, I saw,'' he replied, grinning at her as she held onto his shoulder.
"Well done.'' He patted her on her arm.
"My turn. Carpe Retractum!'' Purple rope shot towards the dummy. There ya go. He did it too.
