They’re starting! Ethan caught sight of Grayson racing after some older student. Also Simon and Adi! The Slytherin fumbled with the engine switch, let his own engine roar and gave Toby an excited/panicked smile. “The game is ooooooooooooooooonnnnnn!!!!!” Ethan accidentally stepped on the throttle pedal and his kart went off with great speed.
“TOBIIIIAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!”
"Yeah, we're close," Toby grinned.
"She's basically my big sister." Not literally, of course. But in everything but blood. There was something super awesome about now meeting someone who'd known her for so long, too, but Toby couldn't place it. What he DID know, however, was that someone who was so close to Ella was definitely good in his books.
As for his name? Toby let out a little laugh.
"If you think that's interesting, you should hear my full name."
But there was no time for that. No sooner had Ethan fumbled for his own ignition switch than had Toby scrambled to do the same. He met his new friend's smile with a grin of his own, but not for long, as soon Ethan was going, going... still going, and at rapid speed.
It was hard to hold back a childish giggle as Toby, in turn, slammed down his own accelarator pedal and shot off only a few seconds later.
Wow, these things WERE fast. But at this point, at least, Toby just wanted to catch up with Ethan and make sure he wasn't, y'know, about to die or anything. It took a few seconds of weaving down the corridor, gently picking up speed, for Tobias to get used to the controls.
"Y'alright, buddy?" the Hufflepuff called over the roaring of all the engines in the race. He still hadn't managed to catch up with Ethan, but he was hopefully getting there.
