"Good morning all," he said loudly for all to hear and cut their chatter down to a stop. "Due to the weather and the impending need to not freeze, I have altered my lesson plan to assist our current living situation a bit better." Hopefully they were okay with that, unless they really wanted to get frostbite in their sleep.
"As you all, I'm sure, have noticed, not only is it freezing outside, it's freezing inside as well. In fact, it has actually started snowing in some places of the castle." Fuller walked back over to his desk, leaning against it again and rubbing his gloved hands together to keep them warm. "Today we will be learning a simple charm that will help keep the cold outside of the castle, but first I want to discuss what you have been doing so far to keep warm. I see lots of blankets and thick coats of course, but what charms or magical items have you been using?" Just a quick discussion to get their brains on the right track.
Okay, so thanks for the fire, but...couldn't he have done that
before class? That way, they wouldn't have had to walk into a freezer, pretty much, and the place would already be warm all over. But meh, at least he was lighting a fire now, so that had to count for something.
But just as that thought had left her mind, another thought entered it. Why were they JUST learning a charm to keep the cold outside the castle? They should have gathered the troops a while back, taught the charm, and had this place warm long before now. Sigh. She guessed she was just in a bad mood.
So what had she been doing to keep warm?
"Definitely the Heating Charm," she said, raising her hand.
"Then I've been using as many blankets as I can find." Yes, blankets...lots and lots of blankets.
"Oh, and sitting by the fire, too." In the common room, she always made sure to take the couch as close to the fire as possible.
