It’s not a bad name…it’s a cool one! Tobias. It has that…baddie kind of ring to it which Ethan likes. “I hope you don’t mind me calling you Tobias. I think it sounds cool.” The fair-haired boy gave the other kid a thumbs up.
The face though. It was still so weird to be conversing with Simon’s look-alike with a different accent. “Anyway. We should race!” Yes, yes. That’s why they are there, no? Oh and look. Professor Cassie was here to join them! Although…he wasn’t quite sure if she’d be comfortable racing with what she’s wearing right now. “Do we…just start our engines now and start the race? Or…do we wait for more participants?” Ethan looked around and saw that nobody has started yet.
Hm.
More confusion from Toby for a moment there. Apparently Ethan did know of him, and for a few brief seconds of panic Toby thought that maybe he'd heard something from Cutty. Ethan was a Slytherin, right? Toby remembered the robes. But then, what WOULD Cutty ever say about him, if anything at all. The Hufflepuff immediately berated himself for his thoughts just in time for Ethan to mention Ella.
Ella.
Just like that, Toby's face split into a wide grin and he glanced at the parchment Ethan was waving around. A letter? Probably.
"Ella, huh?" the fifteen year old practically beamed at the mention of the older girl, his basically-big-sister.
"She told you about me?" Ella, bringing people together even when she wasn't even here. That made sense on so many levels.
"Sure, we're definitely friends," Toby said enthusiastically. Any friend of Ella's, after all.
"You can call me Tobias, I don't mind at all."
Oh yeah, racing. Got a little bit distracted there, as per usual. Toby looked around at the other students in Go-Karts, the prefects in particular, and wondered if perhaps they would explain when they were to set off, or it they could go whenever.
"I'm not sure," he said thoughtfully, looking back to Ethan again and giving a shrug as his fingers tapped rhythmically on his steering wheel.
"I suppose we'll know if they start driving," Toby added, gesturing his head towards the prefects and that one professor.
