One: The difference between one is that the Vibratory Influences isn't classified as a number, whilst the Meaning of the number is actually classified as the beginning.

Two: The difference between two is that the Vibratory Influences characterizes opinion and division whilst the meaning of the number characterizes harmony and unity

Three: Whilst the meaning of two characterizes harmony, it is the Vibratory Influences number three that characterizes harmony. Whilst the meaning number three represents playfulness and imagination.

Four: The Vibratory Influences represents space and matter. Whilst the meaning of the number has changed significantly and now represents hard work and buildings. Which is a lot different to space and matter.

Five: Whilst the Vibratory Influences number is characterized by love and marriage. The meaning of the number is versatile and progressive thinker.

Six: The Vibratory Influences number is the beginning but the meaning of the number balanced and family focuses. This means that the number has changed a lot, the Vibratory Influence is at the beginning of it's life but the meaning is already fully balanced.

Seven: The Meaning of the number you are investigative and wise but in the Vibratory Influences Number you are at conflict with yourself.

Eight: The difference between the two 8 is that in the meaning of the number you are an Authority figure whilst in the Vibratory Influences number you are not.

Nine: The Vibratory Influence number is characterized by Peace and stability. The meaning of the number is the ending and global awareness.


Angel was really confused about the work, she didn't know if she was doing it right, or if she had gone wrong somewhere but at least she had tried which was an improvement on the last time.

"Professor, am I doing it right?" Angel raised her hand and hoped that the Professor had seen her.

Ah, a plea for help. Lolita turned and was surprised to see it coming from none other than the girl who didn't respect Arithmancy. Was it possible that she had changed her attitude?

Walking over to the Gryffindor, Lolita scanned her parchment and was mildly impressed. Other than her obvious fascination with the word 'whilst' the work was solid and insightful. However, she was not one to gush encouragement. "Passable," was all she said. Perhaps it would motivate the girl to keep trying, or even to make the two meanings work together.

One: The Vibratory Influences(VI) consider one the generator of all numbers, but then state that is is not actually a number. Confusing. The currently accepted meaning (CAM) makes more sense to me. One represents a beginning (whereas six represents a beginning in VI). One represents the first, the original.....innovation. Also one is a single, solo, alone. If it represents a person and they were alone, they would tend to be independent.

Two: The male/female thing definitely did not make sense to me. The VI and CAM are different in that way as there is no male/female designation currently. Thank goodness! I did not understand the opinion/ division explanation either. Was that related to the perception of females during that time period? Once again the CAM made more sense to me. Two=a pair. Relationships involve two people and collaboration involves at least two people. With the CAM, two is also related to harmony and unity. With the VI, unity is related to the number one. Harmony is related to number three. I'm not sure about the human magic reference for number two.


Whew. Jasmine had gotten a little long winded with her notes. She'd have to be a little more concise with her next seven comparisons or she would not finish before class was over. Looking down at her book, she moved on to number three.

Continuing to patrol the room, she eventually came to Jasmine. She already had quite a lot written down, but it appeared that she had only done a few numbers. "I applaud you for your in depth analysis. However, I don't think you'll have time to finish if you do that for every number. Feel free to spend less time on each if you'd like." It was not a criticism, merely a suggestion.

Soon she came to a Hufflepuff and looked over his work. "Now that you have listed their meanings next to each other, try to see if you can reconcile the two. Miss Petersfield can help you if you need an example."
