It was his birthday in a few days, and he did NOT want to spend it cooped up inside because the snow was going to take over!
Speaking of...no sooner had Caleb thought that, that the entire snow bank near him seemed to shift. The wind had picked up, which was kind of random. Did that usually happen? He heard Hope ask him a question and he blinked. Right, he had to be polite and get back to the conversation...
"Classes? Oh, um - I liked Astronomy. That was a pretty cool lesson, with the changing seasons and stuff," he answered.
He was about to ask what her favorite class had been, but then the snow started to pick up AGAIN. Alright, that was weird. Weather didn't change THAT fast. He looked at Hope and bit his lip.
"Um, maybe we should get back inside..." he said, his voice trailing off.
Hope leaned her head down on her knees and pulled her cloak closer as the wind stirred up around her. Was it getting colder? She nodded against her knee.
"Understandable. Hot air does rise and it is a little damp and dark down there." She shivered against the cold and the thought of how her life could have been completely different had she ended up in the dungeons and not her tower.
"Astronomy is my favorite class by far as well." No need to go into just how much she loved it. Had it not been for their eccentric professor, she may had never learned to love it as much as she did.
Another gust of wind had the snow whipping up around them and sent her hair flying. She liked the cold, but this was a little ridiculous and unusually cold. She nodded.
"Agreed." She pushed herself to her feet.
"Race you to the Great Hall?" Before he could agree or disagree she was making her way toward the castle trying not to slip and fall all over the snowy ground.
