He looked at the kid's uniform emblem and realised that he was a Hufflepuff...of course, didn't they all wanted to make friends with everyone? So he shouldn't have been that surprised. "Well, i DO need friends" he said awkwardly after a moment of silence. Because if he had to spend his school years friendless than that was just sad.
Kevin didn't like it when others looked amused and he had no idea what was going on. So he narrowed his eyes at him but when he told him that he knew him from classes the Gryffindor shook his head with a small laugh. "Right..classes" he said and sat down on the floor and crossed his legs indian style as he looked up at the Hufflepuff sitting on the windowsill. "I don't know who you are though except that you're a Hufflepuff" he demanded a name.
That... was a lot of sneezing. It really took everything in Toby's power to keep holding back his caring instinct (something he'd picked up from his grandma, apparently) and suggest going to see Healer Tillstorm, though he did provide a polite 'bless you' after the rapid sneezing was over. Though perhaps if Kevin sneezed again... he'd say something. Kid looked kinda worse for wear, though Toby immediately berated himself for thinking something so impolite.
He beamed warmly as Kevin seemed to gradually accept the idea of friendship. Though with... hesitance? It was hard to tell, but it definitely seemed to take a lot of thought.
"Friendships are like alliances too," he pointed out, because this Kevin seemed pretty suspicious and dubious about Toby's intentions, and sometimes it was a good idea to come at things from a different angle.
"And it's always good to have allies." And he left it at that, not wanting harp on about it too much.
Oh, wait, yeah... he'd never introduced himself.
"I'm Toby," he finally said, and if they weren't so far away, he'd have offered his hand to Kevin for a handshake, even though he doubted he'd have got one.
"I'm in Hufflepuff. Fourth year."
Sitting down wasn't helping the restless feeling, but Tobias didn't exactly want to get up and start pacing. Instead he just sat there, tapping his feet in midair to a song he could hear in his head.
