Oh good, he was just startled. Truth be told, Simon had been the same way. He hadn't expected to see anyone out and about in this part of the school. "Simon. Simon Holden, Professor Cosgrach," he explained the third year as he held out his hand towards Cosgrach for a handshake. He didn't know if this was acceptable but it was what his parents had told him to do when he met someone. "So how are you? Apart from being startled, sir?" Aaaaaaaw, WHAT a SWEET gentleman! Offering to shake his hand like that! The man was CLEARLY enchanted and he grinned hugely. ANd then shook his hand, of course. He wished they had more audience.
"I'm great," the man answered, "because I don't meet such enchanting young Slytherins everyday." Hint hint. "How are you?"
