Spring was finally here and the weather had gone fom wickedly cold to just plain cold. Spring was Jasmine's favorite time of year, but it seemed like this year it would not be so. She went down to the Black Lake because of......memories. It was at the Black Lake that she and Cris had first discovered that they had feelings for each other. It was the place where he had asked her to be his girlfriend and now he was gone. Cris left school suddenly without a word to Jasmine and she was devastated. She didn't know why he left or why he didn't tell her anything. He didn't even say goodbye. All she knew was that he was gone and her heart felt like it was breaking into a million pieces.

Jasmine found the spot where they had been all those weeks ago and sat down by the familiar tree. She didn't know what to do. Why did he leave her? How could he leave her? She loved him with all her heart and she was sure that he felt the same way about her. Jasmine had never felt so utterly and completely lost. She knew that it was only a matter of time before the tears came and they came hard. Jasmine curled up into a ball with her head on her knees and cried. She cried until she thought that there should be no tears left to cry. She touched the ballerina on the necklace that Cris had given her for Valentine's Day. "I love you Cris and I always will", Jasmine whispered.
