It seemed that he was relaxing, though, and so did Soph, even though she hadn't realized he had made her so tense - she finally shook off the gut feeling that he was going to jump at her like she was some sort of criminal, though. He was kind of cute, wasn't he? All nervous, doing that typical guy gesture of rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.

She took far too much pleasure in it.

"So what if I do? M'just some girl you'd never met till today. Why should my opinion matter to you?" she inquired lightly. Her words were meant as encouragement, even though she was certain they might have come out rather rudely. She just didn't want him to give so much weight to what others thought of him. "Y'can tell me, though. If I think it's stupid, I won't laugh. Scout's honor." Though she plastered on the most innocent of expressions, she was totally lying.

The Gryffindor watched as Sophie totally-NOT-a-cold-one Brown made herself all comfortable and stuff on the ground. He felt all weird standing up while she just sat there... So he got down too. Except it took him a little bit and it was all gross on the ground with the dust and stuff. But either way, he sat criss-crossed apple sauce on the trophy room floor across from this suspicious smirking girl.

What was that smirk for? It definitely made him all suspicious again. This time... Not about her being a cold one (because he had decided that after the whole explanation of her identity thing, she was pretty safe... for now), but about what she was doing to poor Professor Fuller. Professors are like ANCIENT and probably in there THIRTIES OR SOMETHING they're all wrinkly and definitely don't stand a chance against super fast third years named Sophie Brown.

Why should her opinion matter to him? Well that is quite an easy question to answer. It matter because- uh. Well, it matters mostly because- hm. Well it's mostly because--She had a point. "I guess I just don't want you to think I'm stupid is all." Zander had seen her at their last gobstones match, which meant she was either a Gryffindor or a Ravenclaw. And if she was a Gryffindor he would've definitely seen her in the common room or in passing at the Great Hall. So she was definitely a Ravenclaw. Unless she really was a cold one and didn't actually attend Hogwarts-- No. He was past that. Either way, a smart Ravenclaw would most certainly laugh at a dumb Gryffindor. And despite the whole 'Gryffindor's don't care about how others view them' mantra, Zander did care. Because he was supposed to make friends, just like his mum had told him to.

But then again... Scout's honor. Hm. Should he really trust her? She might still be lying and actually be a disguised cold one. No. MERLIN, he was done with that! "Well... When I heard running, I thought you might've been one of those Cold Ones that we learned about in Defense class." Heh. Typical mistake. Anyone could've made it. Yeah. No need to tell her that he had still thought she was one of them even when she came into the room. Nah. That was totally unnecessary.
