"Fine." Fair enough. She'd been looking out for her aunt and Beverly had to give her credit for that. Unfortunately, she'd do the same had it been the other way around. "Truce?" Beverly stretched out her hand toward Newell.
This wasn't just some all-of-a-sudden change of heart, but Beverly was clever. Having enemies of her own house just wouldn't do. It was stupid. There were loads of Puffers to make enemies from. It was going to take a heck of a lot to be nice, though.
Oh, she learned from her mom. That's probably nice. Having one and all. Beverly just nodded, looking away and at the food instead. "Can I have the recipe then? So I can recreate it on my own?" She needed to do the second part of the assignment then feed it to Jeremiah. Yep.
Sophie took note of the girl with her arms across her chest and realized she was contemplating what to do. Was it really that hard to get along with somebody? Sophie wouldn't beg her to be friends, or to at least get along, but she knew she at least did her part in taking the mature approach.
She raised her eyebrows when the girl replied with 'Fine'.
"Truce," Sophie called, extending her hand, as well, and completing the hand shake. Sophie nodded at the next question then fished around in the pockets of her robes.
"I wrote it down just in case, but I ended up remembering it. You can have this copy," she said.
Campfire Stew
Brown 1 - 2 pounds of ground meat
Add in chopped carrots and potatoes and canned corn (as little or as many as you want)
Add water until you've covered the mixture in the pan
Let simmer together "...and that's it. Mom adds in a can of already prepared soup, but I didn't have any," she added. Looking down at her two bowls of stew, she said,
"Well, thanks for working with me. I better go find somebody to judge this."
