"Today we will be reviewing growth charms and looking at practicing Bonsai... but before we start the review, could I get you each to select one seed from one of the boxes on the table please. There are three varieties. You may select from an Alder tree - the first box, Blackthorn tree - the second, or an Enchanting Elm - in the last." Yes... there was one flesh eater option, should they wish to be a little adventurous, a little daring... but not really. "Select a seed, then get ready to take some notes from the board," she instructed, turning her back to them to write their heading up on the blackboard. Lily had given Professor Bentley another smile as her greeting had been returned, but otherwise had stayed relatively quiet, her green eyes flickering back over the plants around the room now that she’d determined the boxes were related to the lesson and therefore would be explained. Others had asked about the plants, so she didn’t see a reason to repeat questions or observations, and then there were the other students who looked out of sorts. Honestly, she’d been surprised that she hadn’t caught cold yet, but since she hadn’t, she wanted to stay that way. That would be just what she needed, to end up stuck in bed when she was already feeling almost claustrophobic from the cold outside.
At least for the most part it seemed like they were just going to be doing review. Less new information to deal with regarding exams the better, and getting a cute little bonsai tree out of it all was even better. Maybe she would even get to keep it. She’d ask later, as people were already flocking to the boxes to collect their seeds. It took half her concentration just to avoid being pushed aside, although she bit back a laugh as she saw Kyroh crawling through people’s legs to get to the front. That’s one way to stop people from pushing you around, she thought, finally reaching out with a gloved hand to select a seed from the third crate before setting it down next to her notebook, already out and ready to take notes. She’d been going back and forth between the three options, but then the challenge had won out. It’d be interesting to see a bonsai version of an Enchanting Elm anyhow, and there was the possibility of scaring her sister with it if she was lucky. The only thing she’d have to be careful of was to keep it away from her frogs.
