She smiled, "First kisses are more awkward than great usually anyway. You got lucky." Then, she kissed her head too, because she was just so cute. "I'll tell you a secret though, okay? I'd like for Mo to be the last boy I ever have a first kiss with." Hmmm. "Don't get all excited though. Nothing wedding like is going to happen." She didn't want to give Soph the wrong idea, or anything. "As for Marco, I don't blame him for surprise kissing me. He was nervous. It was his first kiss too. I sort of feel bad for punching him." Mostly she liked to bring it up to him whenever they talked. "Plus, he was a good boyfriend." And now he was a dad. Crazy times had passed.
Cat leaned forward and listened again, "Boys can be confusing." She shrugged, "But you can most always take them at face value. Most of the time, they'll tell you the truth. Maybe he's... not ready. Maybe he's scared of labeling it?" She went quiet for a moment, thinking about how Mo hadn't been sure of being a boyfriend and how he'd needed his time. She was going to encourage Sophie to be patient, because it payed off excellently. Cat had a way of always putting Sophie at ease. The world could be splitting in half under their feet with fireballs falling from the sky and if Cat were to hug Soph, smooth down her hair, and plant a kiss on her head, all the fourteen-year old's fear and sadness would be gone - there wouldn't be a trace of worry left in her being.
So the young Ravenclaw instinctively scooted up close to her pseudo big sister, listening to her explanation and smiling contently all the while. "I think it's more important, too. He'll be your last first kiss, first and last boy you'll ever love... all sorts of other lasts. 'Cause why would you need anyone else? Mo's everything." Everything for Cat, at the very least, but Sophie was quite certain that Mo was the closest thing to a real-life prince charming the world had ever seen. She grinned up at Cat at the denial of a wedding, but Soph felt that she knew better.
She just hoped when the time came along, she'd be in the running for the job of flower girl, despite her age.
Sophie didn't like to hear that anyone but Mo was a boyfriend of Cat, so despite Marco being good to Cat, Soph didn't comment any further on that matter. Thanks for taking good care of Cat, Marco, but you were NOT THE ONE FOR HER. He stood no chance against Mo.
Boys were confusing, simple as that. She huffed a little, now sprawling out on her stomach on the blanket, using her laced hands as a pillow for her cheek while she frowned at Cat. "I know he is. But... I guess I can't... blame him. And I figure... if, y'know, we're meant to be and all, doesn't really matter if we have the label or not right now, s'long as we're happy. We've got the rest of our lives ahead of us. Right?"
