AJ giggled at Leah's pancakes. "They aren't so bad. Mine wouldn't look any better." The first year was hopeless when it came to cookies. It was a shame really considering what her mum did for a living. "I bet they taste awesome though." And that was what was really important. The brunette grinned at the girl when she accepted the deal. What a tasty deal it was too.
"Good thinking." She nodded approvingly at the butter and syrup. Those things were needed to make a proper assumption. She watched eagerly as she tried the cookies. Hopefully they were edible. "I'm glad you like them." That was a relief. "So which one do you think is the one made with the rune?" And why? Maybe AJ could have some help figuring this whole rune thing out. What made it stand out exactly?
AJ happily accepted the the plate of pancakes and dug in. "Mmm.." was all she managed to get out before taking another bite, but this time she took one from plate "B". "Told you they would be good." Appearance didn't matter if it made up for it in the taste.
Leah smiled sweetly. She would have given anything to have AJ and Angel in Hufflepuff, but they seem to fit right as Lions.
"Thank you for saying that," she said at the young girl's compliment.
"I haven't had a chance to taste them myself." Argh she should have had a bite or something before she made the deal. What if it tasted so bad her objective judge puked or something?
When she finally swallowed both cookies, Leah thought for a moment before saying,
"Okay AJ, the two taste almost the same, but.." she paused, her head tilted slightly.
"The chocolate chip tastes richer in this one!" the Hufflepuff said pointing to the left cookie.
"So I'll say that this was made up at the workshop, no?" Yeah she was a bad judge. Thinking that she probably needed to elaborate further, the second year continued,
"I guess the workshop-made one had the fire burning steadily, but the cookie made in the normal way took a long time to heat up."
She sighed in relief. Thank goodness they taste good.
"Your turn. What do you think about them?" Leah asked anxiously.
