Sophie was glad her own first kiss had been perfect, too, and nuzzled against Cat's shoulder in the hug in agreement. She didn't mind telling her at all, but she had no qualms against teasing Cat a little. Hehe.

Mo? Oh. It occurred to Cat then that she and Soph had never really talked about this sort of thing. Caterina shook her head, "Mo wasn't my first kiss. It was this boy named Marco Sforza. He's a year older than me and his parents live next to the vineyard so we all grew up together." She smiled again, thinking, "He would always take my side against my brothers, you know how boys are sometimes." Cue an eyeroll there. Her brothers had been selfish with their games sometimes not wanting to let her play with them, but she knew now that they'd really been concerned over the fact that if they'd hurt her, papa would have hurt them back. "One day, we were chatting and he up and kissed me without warning. So I punched him because I wasn't expecting it at all." Poor Marco.

Cat wiggled away from Sophie's tickling and settled again to take a sip of her hot chocolate. "You're definitely going to tell me about it, right?" Definitely!
