Although apparently the accepting and the giving weren't nearly as rule-bound as Mo would have thought, considering that Cambridge had just shoved a Valentine at him. Maybe she was in love with him, 'cause it was pretty clear he wasn't on her list of matches. He winked broadly at her and handed over the half-decorated card he'd been working on.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Cambridge. Just 'cause you deserve it."
Lex had just made the last dot on her next card when she looked up and caught Mo winking. Er....
"Something in your eye Branxton?" She could jab it out with her wand or just jab the whole eye out. That would make her feel better about this cruddy day that was never meant to exist. Instead of offering such graces though, she simply took the card he'd offered, paying little attention to the fact it wasn't done. Not like she'd know the difference. Kinda mean of him to say she deserved this though. No one deserved to be subjected to so much pink and a holiday of love.
"I should say thank you, but I'm not going to. You understand." Of course he understood. He'd known her for
years now.
Turning slightly, she caught sight of Sophie from across the room and remembered having a look at her parchment. The girl was pisces!!
"Yo! Newell!" This worked out perfectly for her. Sophie was one of those people who didn't annoy her to the point of grinding her teeth. Girl was good people and more importantly she was on Lex's list.
"This is yours." The Gryffindor extended the card she'd just made. It wasn't much but surely the girl didn't expect anything fancy.
Alexa did not DO Valentines Day.
