Of course, the first thing Benjy noticed upon sitting down to transfigure his trainers in to skates was Nigel falling over. Benjy gave a little wince, knowing that his dormmate might be sporting a bit of a bruise tomorrow. "Nice of you to check the ice is nice and solid for us all there, Nigel!" he shouted over jovially. So kind of the prefect indeed. Was someone going to help him up though? He looked kind of stuck and damp down there. Benjy would, but a current lack of skates was problematic.

And then he got Vesper waves, and he beamed. Proper BEAMED. It was as if all the awkward thoughts he'd had recently were floating out of him, and he just wanted to get on the ice and have fun and spend time with her. His stupidity over the last few weeks were hopefully forgotten.
Of course, he'd let Lottie have her time first. Band mates and besties first and all that.

He didn't have time to think on this much more, however, as the tip of his one skate collided with an uneven surface. The astronomer then went swan diving forward and belly flopped onto the ground.
Benjy was just turning his attention to his shoes, when the red sleeping-bag-like figure of Professor Flamsteed went past. It was one of those moments where time stood still...and Benjy briefly thought about trying to cast a cushioning spell, but couldn't help but stare at the Professor's flailing figure as he went sailing past.
Kyroh summed it up, really. That definitely wasn't how to ice skate.
"Are you okay...Professor?" Benjy asked from his vantage point. it would be a bit of bummer if he'd broken a bone so soon. Though...he did have plenty of padding in that suit, so hopefully all was good and well inside.
...and whilst he was waiting for an answer, Benjy
finally managed to transfigure himself a pair of ice skate. Awesome. Now, to take to the ice. He hadn't skated in this way for quite a long time, but he'd done a fair bit of roller skating as a kid before he'd settled on the skateboard, so he should be okay, right?
He assumed so, and stepped confidently on to the lake. Gryffindor!side ftw?!
