He nodded when she said that anything sweet had her stamp of approval. Tancred agreed with that one hundred percent, though he wasn't a big fan of acid pops that his boys raved about. Speaking of them, the conversation topic changed to children. "I have three, a girl and a set of twin boys. Third and second years at Hogwarts." And not a single one of them was in Hufflepuff. He was still shocked by that. "Yourself?"
Watching as she made her move for the cheesecake, he noticed her pause after mentioning the papers. Was that a touchy subject? If it meant anything, he never said that he believed everything he read. "Very true, which is why remembering that there are multiple sides to every story is important." With that said, Tancred reached for his plate of cheesecake now that Emily took a forkful. From her reaction, it looked like he made an excellent choice for dessert. As fond as she was of apple pie, she was beginning to think she may have made the wrong decision where desserts were concerned for today. But she was in far too good a mood to make anything negative of it, no, she would have her apple pie... and then go back for cheesecake later. Win win.
Pulling her own dessert close, she speared the edge with her fork, cutting down the crust and scooping the mouthful to her lips. Three? Did he just say ... three? "Wow..." twin boys too... that would have been work. Good for him, he lived to tell the tale. And then the question was directed back to her. "One.. a boy, he's ten and six months... or so he keeps saying." He was at that age, eager for his letter and all. She was about to take another stab her her pie, but she nudged the place forward a bit. "Wanna try?" It was only fair, she'd tried his, and as much as she usually disliked sharing, she was feeling generous today.
It was good to know this one had some sense in his pretty little head. "Exactly that, and as objective as they often make themselves out to be.. well..." it went without saying what she thought. That much was evident.
