Even though he knew that by the time he was done with Spike, he would most likely be sweaty, grimy and hot, Cris still made sure that he dressed warmly. Wearing a fleece lined pair of jeans, a thermal top under his thick flannel shirt and fleeced lined leather jacket, Cris matched that with a woolen scarf which he wrapped around his neck and a woolen beanie on his head.
With his dragon hide boots keeping his feet warm and snug and his matching dragon hide gloves protecting his ten digits, Cris first made his way to the Greenhouse supply shed, to pick up supplies before returning to the Student Garden.
Having come here at the beginning of the term, Cris now knew where Spike grew. Standing in front of the topiary, Cris couldn't help but smile. The last time he was here, he had an encounter with Professor Bentley and to this day, he still counted his lucky stars that she hadn't given him detention for making her think that he was being attacked by his brother's plant on the day of their meeting.
But the reason for him his presence here today was legit. Cris examined Spike and decided that the topiary needed a little trimming besides fertilizing and casting the animation spell on it again.
Okay it was time for Operation Take Care of Spike to begin.
It was so cold. Even wearing all of her warmest clothes, Penelope still felt cold. She wanted to be inside where it was warmer, but she had a job to do. Cris had invited her to come help him and some of his friends take care of a bush or something. Not only would they trim the bush or whatever they were doing, but she could learn the spells that were used to do it. Walking into the garden, Penelope looked around for Cris. After walking around the garden for a few minutes, Penelope spotted Cris. Walking over to Cris, she said,
"Hi Cris. What are we doing with the bush thing today?" Bush thing, close enough, right?
