And the flutteries were still there. WHY ARE THEY STILL THERE!? They were like this annoying THING just going on in his stomach all the time. Like his own personal Peeves. Ahem anyways.
A new bedroom, eh? "You could--" Zander was SO tempted to offer up his own, but before he could say anything he stopped himself. Oops. That would not be a good idea... Even if his heart was in the right place... "I, erm, I mean... The hospital wing might have some extra cots or something... That you could borrow?... Bu-but What's wrong with your current place?" Wait. Where did Professors sleep anyways? Zander had never really thought about it before... Didn't they just live in their desks when students weren't around? No. Zander could not imagine Professor Bentley living in a desk. She probably lived in some huge, magnificent castle.
.... Oh. Wait.
Out of the corner of his eye he noticed that she was offering him a place on the couch. Uh oh. Did she want him to sit? He carefully moved towards her and carefully plopped onto the couch. Except he sat so there was as much distance as possible between them. Could she hear his heart beat? Would she be able to sense it picking up pace? AH. "Thanks," he said this time forcing himself to make eye contact. He didn't need her figuring anything out. Especially because he hadn't even figured it out yet. What is the meaning of these flutteries?
What was he doing here? WAIT, what WAS he doing here? He looked around the room for some hints. After spotting a book that looked to be about the ministry, he suddenly remembered! Oh right, careers. He had almost forgotten after the whole run in with his most favoritest Professor. Ahem. "I uh," he started. "Well, I'm not doing very well in many of my classes and I'm really..." How could he say it without sounding like a total wimp in front of her? "I'm scared that I won't be able to find a job and that-I'll-flunk-out-of-Hogwarts and notgetanyOWLsorNEWTs!" he admitted all of this all at once, so that at the end of his sentence all his words started to mesh together. "So I guess I'm here to find a future?" What? O__O
Either way, that was essentially the reason he came by, but the reason he was staying...
Well that was for the flutteries.
There was something in the way that he was avoiding eye contact, and standing so awkwardly that had her wondering if she'd said something wrong. Or did something wrong? ... Whooops? She wasn't at all certain of what he was trying to say, but when his words eventually came to him, she supposed the Hospital Wing wouldn't be too bad a place to look.
"I'll keep that in mind, thank you," she noted. Though, beds that have had the sickly in them, seemed far less inviting to a couch with wonky springs. Not that those springs couldn't be righted, but she didn't have the patience for that.
"It's too cold. Far too cold, no fire or charm seems to have much effect... I can't live like that any more." How Javy tolerated it was beyond her. But her quarters were now, uninhabitable.
Shuffling in her seat to give Zander some more... personal room... she watched curiously as he settled himself down. Whatever had him looking so nervous before seemed to be subsiding. This became more evident as he launched into what was plaguing him. Meeeeep. He looked like he could do with a hug.
"And which class is this?" she asked with genuine interest, turning slightly so she was looking at him more directly.
"Because I promise you that you won't flunk your OWLs or NEWTs and you will graduate and you will find a job..." the boy wasn't a lost cause, she'd seen those before, he was not one of them.
"Would you like me to help you find a pathway?"
