39. Duel

“En guard!” said Nikolas as he jumped out at Emma, trying his best to scare her. He held a green plastic sword thing that made noises in his hand.

She raised her eyebrows at him. “Uh, Nik? What are you doing?” she asked her partner as she tried to decipher whether this was a new secret partner code for pranking someone or whatnot. “And what do you have there?”

“This?” he asked, lifting it up. “It’s a lightsaber. I have one for you too. It’s not green though.” He handed her a blue one. “I challenge you to a duel!”
