He realized then that he didn't really know what to say when teenagers talked about the people they liked. Good thing he didn't have kids yet.
Fuller snorted. "I don't pick favorites, Miss Brown." Cross his heart. And then uncross it because it might be a lie. "But he is quite the good neighbor, when he doesn't run over Javy's flower pots with his skateboard." Or crash into parked cars or wake him up with the sound of a skateboard grinding on the sidewalk. Yeah, other than that, he was good. |
