Why was Zander even trying to be nice to this kid. He clearly didn't care about anything that Zander had to say. Not to mention the fact that the second year kept being all rude and sassy 'n stuff. But it probably had to do with the fact that chocolate just made Zander a more pleasant person. Or maybe it was the fact that Kevin was in Gryffindor and Zander had already made one lion enemy *ahem* Zahra *ahem*. His list of enemies was already reserved for Slytherins. There didn't need to be any more fellow Gryffindors on it.
Ooooor... Maybe it had to do with the look Kevin let off after all of Peeves' teasing. Awh poor Kevin actually looked hurt, instead of normal confident demeanor. He actually looked... kind of helpless? Like an actual second year who wasn't trying to be all rude and sneaky. And Zander actually felt kinda bad for the kid. And in all the spirit of being a nice third year older Lion brother, he'd help. So maybe that was why he was being so nice to the kid who had been so rude just minutes ago.... But it could be something else. Who knows?
Technically... the weren't really hiding. Just coming up with a game plan and shielding themselves from pillows before they got even more hurt. So not hiding, just being innovative and using their surroundings to an advantage? Any plans? Uh... No. Well not yet. He hadn't really thought about it. He just kind of wanted to get away from the pillow grenades.
"One of us can go out as a distraction, while the other grabs the card!" Would that even work? Peeves wasn't to bright. Maybe he'd fall for it? "And the distraction could-- PPPPPFTTT" UGHKK feathers in mouth. FEATHERS IN MOUTH.
Spitting out several feathers, the third year continued,"use the reducto spell we learned in Defense Against the Dark Arts, to blast on coming pillows," he said excitedly. OOOh Maybe they could even get bonus points on homework for extra practice? Peeves would be so focused on the pillow chaos that he couldn't possibly realize that the card was being stolen back!.... hopefully. Thank goodness the ghost was jumping and making so much noise! He won't be able to listen in on the plan.
This plan was full proof. Or at least it seemed full proof? "So, what do you think?" he asked Kevin couriously. The plan was pretty much made up right then and there and that single instance, so it wasn't highly thought about. But it seemed simple enough. "And I can be the distraction if you want?" Zander offered. "You know, 'cause it's your card and all."
