"You didn't know you'd get a stomach ache if you eat too much chocolate? You really are stupid..." he wasn't even sorry for saying this. Actually, Kevin was never sorry when he was rude. Which basically got him in to trouble all the time...
Kevin looked at the chocolate frog and back to the older Gryffindor yet again. And then rolled his eyes when he called him kid. "Don't call me a kid, okay?" he hated that, he was twelve! He took the chocolate frog from him after a few moments and opened the package around it. The chocolate frog jumped in the air but Kevin managed to grab it and quickly bit off its head. "Kevin" he said as he chewed on the chocolate. "And i KNOW it doesn't bite, i'm not stupid like you" oh man he was never going to make friends like this. But he couldn't help it... "The last time someone was nice to me" he said as he took another bite and at the same time checked his Card. "I got pranked so yeah..." "....ooh! Felix Summerbee, i didn't have that one yet" Zander narrowed his eyes as the kid spoke with yet another RUDE response. HMPH. Well he was in his happy place. He couldn't possibly let one rude kid ruin that. So instead of responding and giving the kid what he wanted, Zander just simply said nothing. Yeah that's right he's taking the high road, Mr. Sass Pants. You know third year maturity and all.
And then suddenly Zander realized who this kid was. He was the one who had gotten detention for Culloden. AH. So he was always rude. Hadn't he learned his lesson the first time? Didn't detention teach him anything? The nerve. "Well maybe people aren't nice to you because you aren't nice to them, KEVIN," he made a point to emphasize kid's name. Not calling him kid anymore, happy? "When you're nice to people, they're generally nice back. You should try it sometime," it could actually be fun. Hmph. Zander could even get lessons. They could do some kind of exchange. KEVIN could teach Zander how to be all assertive and less shy. And Zander could teach KEVIN a thing or two about being a good person. It would all work out iin the end.
Zander took out his card as well and ugh. Albus Dumbledore. He had like ten of those. Just with this stash of chocolate alone. Even though he was technically angry with KEVIN's rude comments, he didn't really need the extra card. So putting his anger aside, he decided to be nice. Because that's what nice people like Zander do. SEE KEVIN?! Kindness is why he has friends. "You want mine, I have way too many of his--" But before he could continue, PEEVES.
NASTY GHOST TOOK THE CARD! Well... KEVIN did deserve it. But then again, he did feel kind of bad. Ooooh maybe he could save the card for KEVIN and then KEVIN would start being nice to him and they could actually be friends. YES. Zander Adair to the rescue! Now how do you get something back from a ghost?
But it looked like KEVIN had some other plans... "Uh, dude. I don't think you can hex a ghost... Wouldn't it just, you know... Go through them?" Either way Zander would find a way to retrieve that card! "UGH PEEVES, go mess with some annoying Slytherins or something!"
At this point, the third year was jumping up and down trying to reach Peeves and the card, but it wasn't really working. MUST. GET. CARD. BACK.
