"Before we begin, please come put on an apron and wash your hands." Their hands were disgusting and grimy and surely they didn't want to get sick from preparing food with dirty hands? She indicated towards the various sizes and coloured aprons that were hanging on the hook by the sink as she donned a yellow one herself. She then retied her hair back into her a low bun. "And also, girls? And boys?" Technically. Ahem, Nigel. "Despite the dose of protein, you'll want to tie your hair back as no one wants hair in their pizza."
Whilst they were getting on their own aprons and washing their hair, Hadley set to work on copying the recipe onto the portable chalkboard: 1 1/2 cup warm water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon. yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
3-4 1/2 cups flour
- Step One: Using one of the bowls at your workstation, combine the water, sugar, and yeast. Let the mixture stand for 10 minutes (or until yeast is bubbly)
- Step Two: Add salt and stir.
- Step Three: Add 1/2 cup flour and mix well, gradually adding more flour (usually no more than 3-4 1/2 cups) until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl and no longer sticks to your fingers. You'll want to add just 1/2 a cup at a time.
- Step Four: Spray the other bowl with cooking spray and place dough in the bowl.
- Step Five: Cover and allow the dough to rise for 45 minutes, or until its doubled in size.
"So the recipe for the dough is on the board. You may work in pairs, or individually, as there's enough ingredients for both options." Anything else they needed to know? "We'll discuss more about the ingredients after we get the dough prepared while we're waiting for it to rise." In the meantime they had to get the dough prepared, as that was possibly the longest part in the whole process.
Once she made sure everyone to got to work, Hadley settled into her own workstation. Because at least if they failed (and she was expecting at least SOME of their pizzas to not come out right), they would have one good pie. ooc: Dough prep time! I'll check back in about 11 hours or so for questions and whatnot. Feel free to make your character add too little or too much ingredients (if its IC of them to do so). And in about 17-18 hours, we'll be at step five - the waiting game and have some more discussion! O____________________________________________O
HAS HE DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN!?!?!?!?!
They were making PIZZA!!!!!!! PIZZA! sweet beautiful pizza. Jeremiah would of squeaked had he not been so speechless by it all, really. Though his heavenly dream was crushed at the mention of tying hair back............. no, Jeremiah didn't do that, it wasn't debatable. Ahem, he'd just be in the back where he can't be seen or noticed. Not paying any attention to anyone at his workstation table he grabbed a pile of ingredients and started working at it after washing his hands properly and grabbing a random apron, which happened to be
purple but you know he worked it. He's made a pizza before.......... Kinda, it almost worked but then again they eyeballed and guessed with ingredients so that was probably why they failed. Now though with the measurements laid out for him it was so on like donkey kong!
Settling all his things down he grabbed the water sugarand yeast and mixed it all up untill it was really mixed, actually it was untill he was bored but no matter. Sitting and looking down into his bowl he waited for it to become bubbly, because who knew when ten minutes was up really? After he noticed it bubbling some he assumed it ha been long enough and he dropped in his small amount of salt before stirring it agaiiin. PIZZA WAS HAPPENING!
